Geographic Information System (GIS), a kind of high and new technology, integrates Earth Science, Information Science and Computer Technology. As one of the crucial means it promotes the information society development. This paper focuses on four questions related with GIS. These four questions are: multi-source data processing, the technology of developing a special Urban GIS, the research of multi-scale map browse in several screens and transfer technology of spatial data in mobile GIS.As for the first question, the author first discusses the multi-source feature of geographic data, then presents methods to deal with some data sources, and then active faults detection data are processed and integrated. As for the second question, the author first investigate the architecture of ArcObjects components library, then discuss how to establish a special urban GIS calling ArcObjects components, and then Fuzhou Active Faults GIS is set up. As for the third question, the display and man-machine interface of GIS are discussed. The author first introduces the theories and methods of multi-scale map display, then puts up with a method of multi-scale map browse in several screens. As for the fourth question, the author discusses the structure of Mobile GIS, application services and key techniques, then OFDM is discussed about its theory and simulation analysis. This technique will be perhaps used to transfer large volumes of spatial data in the future.
