Distributed Software Test Automation Technology

Test is the basic unit of all engineering science. And software test plays an important role in software development. Because traditional software testing involves a lot of repetition work and costs much tune and labour, software testing is becoming a focus.This article introduces and discusses the theory of software test and software test automation.This article researches and analyzes the architecture and work principle of LSF Suite developed by PlatForm Computing Corporation in Canada in detail. It discusses why the distributed system, LSF Suite, needs automated test, analyzes the difficulties in automating testing LSF Suite compatibility and how to resolve the dificulties.Basing the research and the analysis mentioned above, this article researches and develops an automatic software test system for LSF compatibility test: Auto_Tool. Specially, it detailedly discusses the design and implement of the dispatcher (harness) and a typical automated compatibility test case inAuto_Tool.Combining the research and development of Auto_Tool, this article explores the software test automation technology.
