Distributed Virtual Environment Application Research

Distributed Virtual Environment (DVE) which is a new computer crossing application technology has many application prospects of later years.It can be used in wide fields.The design of virtual reality system uses advanced hardware technologies and software tools to design a reasonable architecture and interactive methods.Using DVR technologies in the military simulation,causes the dramatic reform of the simulation's direction and ideas, drives the development of the military simulation.In this paper,we mainly discuss the construction of Distributed Virtual Reality systems, VR development software (MultiGen Creator and Vega ) and the process of the system construction . This paper includes five parts. The first part is a brief introduction to Distributed Virtual Reality,including the environment characteristics and some critical technologies. In the second part , it specificatively introduces the research and development of Distributed Virtual Reality,the principle, the components, the model and the typical software environment of DVR system,then we can put up a platform of DVR system. In the third part, the key technologies of the distributed system are introduced,including DIS protocol, DR algorism, data filter and some network security technologies. In the fourth part , we use MultiGen and Vega implement a DVR system which is a virtual area. In this area plane can fly and tank can drive ,and they can fire each other. At the same time,the modeling of the system,the motion model and programming mainly discussed. The last part introduces the difficult problems that we can't resolve currently and we should pay close attention to them later.
