The article analyzes the attack of information technology, such as network publish, printing on demands, network marketing and electronic commerce, to the traditional publishing way. As information flow in the book publish field is not smooth, the stock and return rate are arising, the manual order handling system is not suitable for the rapid business growth, the book sale information system becomes the necessary choice to solve these problems.Although most of publish houses start to use computer to substitute the manual order system, present sale information system is still on a primary stage, which has no ability to fulfill the information share with publish production dept. and book stores because the system function is too simple with the out of dated version (some software is developed under DOS system). The sale information system needs to be entirely updated. At present, the main methods of the publish house is to purchase software product or pay the professional company for the construction of the management information system (MIS). The article exemplifies 'the book publish 2000' of Qunwei Co. who has a high market share in China, 'POPS2000' of Bayakala Co. and MIS of Science Press, analyzes the function and character, the advantage and weakness of these two main methods, and demonstrates the main problems lying in the software: lack of the standard of data exchange in this line; lack of the software for information integration; the limited development of publish software due to the partial benefit; low standardization level of software; lack of creation in thought and technology both.According to the competition theory of Michael Porter, the article analyzes what kind of competition advantage will be brought to the publish house by the information technology, and how to introduce customer relation management (CRM) and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) based on the case of Science Publish Company.Considering above analysis and research, I design the detailed plan of the book sale information system of publish house, draft the book sale information of publish housestrategy and propose the information integration in book publish field, that is, internal resource integration of publish house and the tight connection with books stores externally, to reform the publish procedure.Finally, the article suggests that publish house should construct effective information system and clarify the purpose of MIS; MIS strategy should be in conformity with business developing strategy; investment scale should be suitable; they should use the applicable software and hardware equipment; the MIS development should focus on IT sourcing; the data base construction should be improved; the IT supervision, risk control, training and culture establishment are necessary.
