Currently, service-oriented architectures are becoming an integral aspect of the IT strategy. Service-oriented architectures(SOA) offer the ability to register, discover, and use services, where the architecture is dynamic in nature. However, the technologies that provide the implementation of these features are by its very core, statically based, such as CORBA, DCOM, RMI and UDDI based Web Service.Jini's architecture promotes the concept of dynamic registration, discovery, and execution. The architecture addresses the problems of creating service-oriented architectures that are intended to be adaptive, self-healing, self-administered, and distributed. In this article, the architecture and mechanism of Jini and some other distributed system (CORBA, DCOM, RMI and UDDI based Web Service) are analyzed and compareid as the infrastructure technology for SOA. Jini is founded the best candidate. However, the better way is to combine Jini and the other distributed technology to get the most of SOA. The solution here is to design a bridge and a wrapper as the service proxy, to enable Jini operating with CORBA, DCOM and UDDI based Web Service, hi addition, a general Bridge architechture was also given out as the general paradigm of these Bridge. At the end of this article, a prototype Jini-CORBA Bridge was implemented to enable the Jini client accessing the promote CORBA service.
