Gsm System For Mobile Positioning Technology

At present, GSM system is one of the most popular digital cellular telecommunications systems in our country, which is widely used in the whole world. With the increase of the number and the requirement of GSM subscriber, mobile position technology, especially the mobile position technology in GSM, has attracted more and more attention in the field of the mobile telecommunications.This paper studies the technology of mobile position deeply and tries to find a resolution to the problem. At first, the architecture of GSM system and its components are discussed in the paper. After discussing the common interface of GSM system and its area division, the presented methods used for mobile position are studied in detail, and the factors affecting the accuracy of the methods are discussed as well, and then the math model of the location policy based upon the classification of position services is presented. At last, the issue on how to provide location services depend on ETSI's LCS standards is discussed completely, including LCS logical modeKGSM arcthitecture supporting LCS logical model, signaling, protocol and the procedure of the mobile location in GSM system.
