The paper discusses a designing and realizing technique, which is about a double-wave-bands double-patterns vicleo frequency image tracking system. The double-wave-bands means TV image and infra-red image.The paper is established in advanced technique about correlation tracking and feature matching tracking inside and outside China. From engineering angle, it analyses and introduces the theory as well as software and hardware technique about correlation tracking and feature matching tracking, demonstrates the realization and the performance of the double-wave-bands double-patterns video frequency image tracking system, moreover, it discusses compound technique of the two patterns and methods to improve the tracking precision . Bring forward some techniques and methods with relatively high practicality value which have primary validated in this project and been well applied in some scientific research projects.In the paper, according to the difference of object and background, it put forward two tracking patterns of correlation tracking and feature matching tracking. The two tracking patterns work together, according the respective believe degree coming from the main control plane, chooses the tracking control signal. the two trackers supplement each other and assort with each other, in this way, the system has some prominent strongpoints. The paper demonstrates the matters one by one according to the structure of the system, and it is about two aspects: image segmentation and image matching. The former focuses on a fast extracting segmentation threshold technique on specified scene, the binary threshold extraction^ shape center extracting^ shape center adjustment and recognition judgment are key technologies. The latter introduces badge extracting and badge matching, MAD correlation algorithm and recognition judgment are key technologies.It takes four chapters to discuss the realization and performance of actual system. These prove the rationality and efficiency of the forenamed technique.Furthermore, in order to provide something use for reference to coming research, this paper points out the deficiency and limitation of the system.
