Solaris Cluster English Search Engine Design And Realization

With the rapidly development of Internet, the information on network is becoming more and more abundant. For get the info that we need, we must turn our help to the Info-Retrieval-System. Presently in China, however, these tools are not mature enough that greatly encumber the efficiently use of network resources. The goal of our project is just to fill this gap. This software supports the Chinese&English information retrieval and several means of logic-combine retrieval according to the request of users. Most importantly, it provides a fast-response service. This dissertation consists of two parts. In the first part, author introduces some concepts and relevant technologies about search engine, and takes a thoroughly description about the design and implement of several major modules in which the index-data-base module is emphasized. For enhancing the efficiency and fault- tolerance of the system, in the second part, we import the distribution computing mode --- cluster-computing. After briefly introducing the concepts of cluster- computing, we thoroughly analyze the algorithms of several membership protocols, and then describe our algorithm of membership and load-balancing, finally we present the frame-work of our search-engine cluster. At the end of the dissertation, we give a report of our system-test, and bring forward some advice on the further work.
