With the development of ISDN network, more and more ISDN users have already known that the critical importance of security of information communication.Users with huge amount of information transmission have not been satisfied with the Basic Rate cipher machines made before At present it's no time to lose for developing ISDN Primary Rate cipher machines quickly. Fortunately, I have been taking part in developing the ISDN PRI cipher machine .As a summarizing from theory and technology, I have finished this thesis. In the process of developing ISDN PRI cipher machine, I have been engaged in the following works: (1) Analyzing the DES algorithm and the application in the ISDN PRI cipher machine (2) Designing the whole scheme including hardware and software for ISDN PRI cipher machine (3) Designing the data cipher card and the card reader by FPGA and IC card technology (4) Designing the display module in hardware and software In the process of developing ISDN PRI cipher machine, I have adopted the following critical technologies: (1) IC card technology Using this technology, I can divide or synthesize the working key library, and protect it with the protecting algorithm. (2) FPGA technology In designing data cipher card, I adopted antifuse FPAG chip to protect main algorithm, to construct keys in physics and to improve the speed of encrypting and decrypting. Also I adopted complete synchronous technology to improve the chip reliability and multiplex technology to improve the chip resource cost. (3) PCI bus technology This technology improves the exchanging speed between the data cipher card and the host and the speed of encrypting or decrypting. (4) Two ports RAM technology This technology improves the exchanging speed between FPGA chip and PCI bus and the speed of encrypting or decrypting. Through designing, finishing and testing for card reader, display module and cipher card in hardware and software, I achieved the results of the absolutely accuracy for reading and writing card and for encrypting and decrypting and the speed of 32Mbit/s for encrypting or decrypting.
