In laser printing, photo printing,and other printing,because image must beto display on the output devices,which are digital ones and used dot to displaythe image, halftoning image technology is needed. In halftoing technology usingordinary printer which has low precision, we often use standard error diffusionalgorithm that was just thought the relationship between dots' distance anderror diffusion, but be neglected the relationship between the dots' similarity anderror diffusion; so produced image has some distortion in detail and texture.Based on technology of traditional halftoning of image, we present a set of errordiffusion algorithms and models such as adaptive error diffusion based on outputdevice's frequency Cellular Neural Network for error diffusion based on imagetexture, area distance model base on energy fuction curvature and its' advancealgorithm. To low precision device, these algorithms has more advantages thanthe traditional algorithm in subjective side and objective side. Form theparameters, we can see these algorithms improve the quality of the duplicatingimage,the compensation precision, and adjust the dot distortion remarkably. Wealso give out a device model and its experiment, and some bi-value thresholdalgorithms.
