Media is not only the basic driving force of the development of the society, at the same time, each a kind of new media has created a new way of human communication and social life. Especially with the high speed development of Internet technology and social media, finally the news consumption is obviously most fast than the speed of news output, At present, Information production and release ofthe most traditional media suffer from the challenge and influence of social media. Especially when the public crisis events was occurred, rumors and speculation will be spread on social media platforms at the first time. Whenrumors with wings of social media, the transmission speedis so fast, the range is very wide and the harm is very big, so the control of rumors is a very thorny problem. At present, social media not only became a hotbed of rumor infested, but also the spread of rumors is very fast. Based on the research achievements of other scholars, this paper mainly adopts method of literature analysis and qualitative analysis. It will research the rumor control of social media in the level of audience research. First of all, the new characteristics of the social media era rumors and the deep reason have be summarize; Secondly It will focus on social media rumors spread effect of era. At the same timeit will explain difficulty and meaning of rumor control; In the end, the control of the social media rumors will be locatedin audience research level, so that put forward the strategies of the spread of the rumors controlled in social media era...
