Mobile communication has a history of more than one hundred years and it brings great changes to human communication. As society develops faster and faster, the technology of mobile communication becomes more intelligent while the number of users and types of service become huge and variable, so that traffic and users’behave prediction mean a lot to quality of service and efficient use of resource. The traditional analysis is based on queuing theory whice becomes inaccuracy when the quality of service requires high, in the same time if there is a new business occurs in the system, the traditional analysis will not adapt to it. So it is of great importance to find a new way to cover the shortage of traditional way.Network calculus is a tool of network traffic analysis, it receives a lot of attention since it occurs and also receives remarkable achievements in the network traffic analysis, its characteristic is using arrival curve and service curve to represent actual arrival of traffic and service quantity in a period of time respectively based on Min plus algebra, combine these two curves we can get the delay distribution of traffic and cache distribution of the system using probability theory and then get the best resource utilization within the quality of service constraint, which can save the resource and achieves the goal of green communication. This paper first illustrates the application of queuing theory in the traffic model based on voice service、mixed data service and voice on IP service. Then this paper has deduced the arrival curves and service curves of different traffic models and signal channel models based on the theory of stochastic network calculus, in the same time the paper gives out three methods to judge traffic model busy or not innovatively. The capacity allocation problem in the voice service is solved by using stochastic network calculus to model the business, the congestion rate is also calculated by using equivalent model based on stochastic network calculus. The method of queuing theory and network calculus theory will be compared and the advantage of network calculus will be illustrated. At last this paper analyzes the second users’delay characteristic in the single channel cognitive radio system and the minimum energy consume of base station under delay constraint, effects of different factors on the results will also be presented. The last part of this paper will give the research direction in the future.
