Distributed Multi-channel Wireless Network Simulation Model Based On Cognitive Research

In recent years, the emerging cognitive radio technology is playing an extremely important role in solving wireless spectrum shortage. At the same time, National 863 Program has an arrangement in researching cognitive radio technology and a wide range of research had being carried out. The background project of this paper is one of the 863 plan projects on the field of cognitive radio, which is named"Design of overall scheme for dynamic spectrum sharing broadband wireless communication system validation network development".In the early stage of this project, the main task is to design schemes and verify by simulations. It is necessary to do many simulations for multi-channel distributed cognitive radio network protocols and architecture in the simulation platform. Network simulation is an important and fundamental way for network technology research. However, various existing network simulation platforms are not applicable for cognitive radio network simulation. This causes great difficulties to the simulation research needed by the background project of this paper.In response to these contradictions, in order to meet the needs of related simulation in the project, this paper design the node simulation model of cognitive radio network based on the NS2 network simulation platform, so as to make use of the simulation model based on the simulation platform to addressing cognitive radio network simulation. To design the node simulation model of the cognitive radio network, need to the study the following main contents:Because the background project involved in multi-channel radio network environment, need to simulation for multi-channel network, so this paper aim to design a multi-channel network node simulation model based on NS2 platform at first. By use of the designed simulation model, researchers can effectively carry on the simulation of multi-channel network.By researching on related knowledge on basic functions of actual cognitive radio network's node, based on multi-channel network node simulation model designed previously, by adding the simulation ability to basic functions of cognitive radio network to build a multi-channel Cognitive Radio Networks node simulation model successfully. Simulation validation results show that by use of the simulation model designed in this paper, could simulate the cognitive radio network rarionally and effectively.This paper's design and implementation on multi-interface multi-channel network mobilenode simulation model could better meet the basic needs of this paper's background project. As in the model's design the general nature had been taking into account, so these two node simulation models also can be used as general-purpose simulation model for multi-channel networks and cognitive radio network related simulation deeds of researchers.
