Design And Implementation Of Campus Network Security Management System

With the fast development of internet, the campus network which is the important basic facility of colleges and universities plays different roles on teaching, scientific research, administration, external communication. As the public-oriented and open system, various transmission data of the campus network has been increasing, facing many threatens and attacks from all aspects. Therefore the safety of the campus network directly influences colleges and universities'teaching, scientific research and so on. We should defend the network actively rather than passivelyform being attacked unintentionally or intentionally.The safety of the campus network is a huge system and needs omnibearing defense. The construction of network security system is a very important problem. An excellent network management system can make efficient monitoring, explanation and control for various network equipment and its software resources. Then the network can work securely, reliably and safely. The network security management is a process which is to control a complex computer network and make it operated highly efficiently. And this process contains normal use and daily maintenance of network. The more and more complex network system also produces multifarious management tasks for us. As for this, a series of network management technologies have been used widely, which have become the general standard of the network security management system. My study aims avoiding the problems as follows: how to ensure the security and stabilization of the campus network, maintaining the network transmission speed, dropping the wrong network transmission data, monitoring the abnormal network flow and the management of the network users.This paper has been based on grasping the whole structure of each function of campus network security management system. It studies the specific realization solutions of different functions and the need of various data models in the management process. Taking advantage of usual network monitoring tools to establish function of network security as Router, Switch and Firewall have, we can manage the security for the whole network. The management mainly contains configuration management, performance management, fault management, security management, user management, network monitoring and so on. The development of the whole system is complex. It involves many aspects of computer and network technology. We should establish a campus network security management system which is based on SNMP, VLAN, firewall technology, authentication identification technology and intrusion detection. Therefore, we can realize our need of the main function of network security management, such as network monitoring, equipment management, IP research, topology discovery, routing configuration, user management, fault management and so on.At the end, basing on the whole paper, I will look forward to the future of the network security and give my some suggestion.
