Based On The Design And Development Of The Independent College Student Management Information System Of The B / S Mode

Management of students'enrollment status is the foundation and the key of the modernization of educational information management of universities, and it is imperative for it to change from the traditional manual management to automatic and web-based information management. For a long time, some independent colleges have been adopting the traditional manual method to manage the files of student record information, which has many disadvantages, such as low efficiency, poor security, etc. Some other colleges have been adopting the traditional Client / Server structure management, which brings difficulty in updating and maintenance, and hence can not adapt to the new situations. Although many universities have established a campus network, there're few management information software systems which can match the management in independent colleges, so it is essential for the independent colleges to develop a set of academic status management information systems according to the actual situations.First, this paper analyzes the present situation and characteristics of the teaching management system in independent colleges, and studies some development methods of school management information systems. Then, it proposes a development plan based on Browser / Server model, Web server, Resin server, and the database of Microsoft SQL Server, using JSP and Eclipse as a development tool. After a comprehensive survey in Oxbridge College of Kunming University of Science and Technology, we conduct a full analysis of the need to develop the school management information system. After that, we figure out that the Student Management Information System in Oxbridge College of Kunming University of Science and Technology is made up of maintenance of three parts which include the data sheet, school information query, reporting and statistics. Then, we adopt software engineering design and analyze the objective requirements of each module and workflow in detail.The system is mainly for students and teachers. The basic information of the students and teachers is needed in the school management information system. Students can view their personal enrollment information, and teachers can view, add, edit, delete, and add up students'record information, so different users can perform different work through the system.There are over seven thousand full-time undergraduate students in Oxbridge College of Kunming University of Science and Technology, therefore, school management information system plays an important role, which is convenient for both the students who can view their personal enrollment information, and the teachers who can manage the enrollment information. What's more, the system facilitates the school's educational administration.
