Institutions of higher education, as an important part of modern society, are the places to educate college students, and have the features of other schools, as well as, its own traits. Accidents happening in college not only influence school's stability and harmony, but also have a negative effect on the society. Therefore, how to prevent and deal with all these emergent problems has aroused people's concern, and it is urgent to investigate this problem and establish the relevant mechanism.This article covers the related literature in this field and discusses the supporting evidences of college accidents, which include the theory of life-threatening cycle, life cycle model of public accidents. On the basis of these theories, the article explains the general description of accident, concept of college accident and emergent problem-solving mechanism and analyses the deep cause of college accident through mechanism, concept and regulation, as well as international politics, domestic society, institutions of higher education and college students, and then reviews the current construction of emergent problem-solving mechanism of college accident in China. According to all these analysis above, the article proposes the principles and policies to deal with college accident, and demonstrates four related elements in emergent problem-solving mechanism of college accident:prevent mechanism, precautionary mechanism, emergent controlling mechanism and post-accident-dealing mechanism on the basis of the requirement, feasibility and basic principles of emergent problem-solving mechanism of college accident.
