China is a multinational country, its minorities have created unique and colorful culture in their production and daily lives. Mulao is a unique nationality living in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. With modern society developing and foreign culture impacting, Mulao's traditional ethnic culture is facing decline with its members' neglect. A nation's traditional culture is a national foundation and the source of development, so we must attach importance to the protection of traditional culture and national heritage. Research on ethnic traditional education, is conducive not only to understanding and inheriting the nation's outstanding traditional culture for minority community members, but also to objective judging the historical and realistic value of minorities' traditional culture, and the probable function in future minority education.Using literature, surveys, interviews and observations, this study took case investigation about Mulao's traditional education in TianXin village, SiBa town, LuoCheng county of GuangXi. Through investigation and study, we can draw a four-point conclusion. First, the Mulao members know less about their traditional culture, moreover their lack of consciousness of inheriting traditional culture results in neglect of their young members' traditional culture education, thus their traditional culture's foreground would be gloomy. Second, differences from folklore to modern way of life make some traditional customs hard to be continued. Third, due to undeveloped economy in Mulao area, some young members make light of their traditional culture, this results in lack of inheritors. Fourth, modern education and culture had an impact on Mulao traditional cultural education.Based on this study, the paper made the following recommendations for improvement. (1) Set great store by ideology, and resume self-confidence and consciousness of inheriting nationality culture. (2) Deal with the relationship properly between economic development and traditional festivals. (3) Strengthen the links about the way of heritage in government action and national civil action. (4) Establish a sense of innovation, make the Mulao's traditional culture advancing with the times, keeping vitality. (5) Attach importance to inheritors, and do well in inheritors' training, so that the whole national cultural heritage will be sustained. (6) Teach ethnic culture education to the leading cadres in Mulao area and make them the advocates of inheriting traditional culture.
