The article deals with the teaching of Chinese and the research into the college entrance examination. The writer makes some suggestions on how to teach Chinese of the new curriculum and does some research into the college entrance examination paper. First, the writer goes over different articles on the teaching of Chinese before and after the carrying out of the new curriculum and summarizes the main views of different researchers. The article points out the weaknesses of the previous researches and the emphases of the future research. After analyzing the characteristics of the new Chinese subject and the revelations it gives us, the writer makes some conceptions about the teaching of Chinese, taking the teaching of composition and reading comprehension for example. The college entrance examination paper is the main means of testing the new curriculum. The writer talks about the characteristics and the weaknesses of the college entrance examination papers in some provinces that first carried out the new curriculum and meanwhile analyzes the characteristics of 2008 college entrance examination paper in Jiangsu Province. The writer makes some suggestions about the structure of the paper, the proportion of different parts, the contents of the paper and the design of the paper. The article also predicts the contents of the additional examination paper in 2008 and provides a model test.
