India is a developing country with numerous populations, whose high education system had put up since 1857 during British colony era. Indian high education's great development really began from the beginning of the 1950s, reached the peak in 1960s, and in 1970s slowed down. The development's speed and scale is very unusual in development countries. The experiences of success and failure have a great effect to the Indian society and the same times the experience is used for reference to other development countries.After independence, India government pays more attention on high education development. In a very shout time, the government has put up a gigantic high education system, and got a great success, bring out a great change to Indian society, and enhance the people diathesis, bring up a numbers of world class talents, and a lot of middle class, lead to economical rising. Gain abundant foreign exchange, enhance Indian international well known and prestige, at last lead to Indian society fast development.But high education's outlay is short of money and education burst development brought bad side, too, such as a lot of special talent were out of work and talents left the India ,the quantity of education decreased and the outlay were out of short and so on. This paper research the achievement and the existing problems of Indian high education, analyze the reasons and the effect to Indian society, and hope to bring some help to China and other development countries.
