In 1978 Historical Evolution Of China's College Entrance Examination Education Function

College entrance exam is the public concern in the society. It is a quite good angle of view to study the college entrance examination from the functions of college entrance exam. Whether in the west or China, study on the functions of college entrance exam is the focus in studying college entrance exam. What's more, college entrance exam is mainly education test, so the article selects the functions of college entrance exam to discuss the reform of college entrance exam.In order to acquire a clear understanding about the changes of educational functions, this article clears up the reform policies of college entrance exam since 1978.The article comprises of five parts. The first is the introduction part, mainly expatiating on the background, the meaning, the pertinent documents, the purpose and methods of the study. The second part analyzes the notion of function of college entrance exam, points out the theoretical basis to divide the function into educational function and social function, and then summarize the main embodiment of function of college entrance exam. The third part reviews the reform and development of the college entrance exam since 1978, divides the historical stages and analyzes the characteristics of college entrance exam. The fourth part analyzes the changes of function of college entrance exam in China since 1978 from the following three aspects: selecting function, guiding function and evaluating function, only to figure out the developmental skeleton of changes of function of college entrance exam; and then properly analyzes the reasons of the changes. The final part is revelation and advice. In the process of analyzing the changes of function of college entrance exam, I am enlightened and briefly put forward some suggestions just for reference.
