Empirical Study Of Urban Community Residents In The Neighborhood Interaction

This dissertation probes into the investigation to the residents' neighbor-interaction in urban community through social interaction theory and social network theory, which gets the conclusion: (1) neighbor in size and interaction frequency as well as depth of the built community are higher than the other two communities, which present a descending direction. (2) The meat of the residents' neighbor-interaction in urban community is apt to a mental interaction, which major concludes greeting when meet and chatting with neighbor as well as making fun together. At the same time, the materially interaction has been obvious reduced under the development of the professional social service agency, such as reciprocate favors. (3) The interest and character as well as thought and conduct of the subject of communication are the main consideration, which shows the interest is remain the social mainstream in neighbor-interaction. (4) The primary way of neighbor-interaction in urban community is entertainment and leisure as well as chatting and greetings when meet; outdoor grassy areas and public leisure area become people's main place of neighbor-interaction. (4) The characteristic of the neighbor-interaction in urban community presents cosmetic trend. Some people interact by greetings; the percent of human exchange and receiving help is not high; In the process of interaction, the percent of deeper communication such as diction or conduct is lower. However, the residents have a high satisfaction on the actual state of neighbor-interaction in virtue of their low care and expectation on the interaction. But from all above, there is entirely existing section social living community in urban community. (6) Comparing with the traditional closed social, the social network in modem society has some characteristics such as large in size low in density and weak in homogeneity, and assumes a high openness. The openness of social network in urban community results in the variety of social relationship, which results to the function an importance of neighbor-interaction down in status in people's living. But this descending in status hasn't led the community insignificant and count for little completely. At the same time, this descending instead cause residents have a higher satisfaction with neighbor-interaction in urban community. With the development of Intemet, virtual neighborhood comes out. Although it's virtual, it offers the feasibility for actualization of people's spirit, which turns out to be realized at last. However developed the science and technology are, our intercourse will finally return to our real life. The neighbor-interaction in our real living life will never be changed to be one of the social interactions.
