Our society, with other countries, has entered an entirely new globalization era at an unprecedented rate. Thanks to the promotion of the World Health Organization (WHO) , the concept of " Health Promotion" has been increasingly spread and developed throughout the world. Globally educational experts have reached a consensus that the key to health education is children and teenagers. They also think that health education is not only the responsibility of hygiene sector, but also that of educational sector. For teenagers, school is their main activity area; health education in school plays an extremely important role in all the health education of their lives. And this is of greater significance to children and teenagers. Nutrition is the fundamental element of health, and nutrition service is very important in school health education. Therefore, the research and exploration of establishing an effective model of school nutrition service has been a significant part of school health education all over the world.Among them, the United States of America is earliest one to cany out school health education, with the best performance. In terms of theoretical structure and practical development, US school health education has provided so much useful experience to school health educational reforms in other countries. The school nutrition service is one important part of the comprehensive school health education. For many years, the Wellness Model has been proposed in the research and exploration of school nutrition service. And the Model Wellness Policy introduced by South Dakota State is the most successful one, with most representation. The model has been a standard model in all the South Dakota State, accompanying the perfection of it.From the perspective of comparative education, this dissertation, where various methods are applied, analyzes the history of coming into being, content and structure, characteristics and results of implementation of the Model Wellness Policy of South Dakota State. The dissertation further proves that the Model Wellness Policy of South Dakota State has been playing an active role in all-US school nutrition services. The author hopes by learning from the practice of South Dakota State, a new platform will be established for schools in our country and our school nutrition services will be improved.
