Mathematics Teachers' Classroom Teaching Behavior Analysis,

The author of this paper is concerned only about the research founded on the teachers'reality, which may provide factual basis for all the research about teachers and may provide the factual basis of the change of teachers'instructional behavior.This research adopted the method of qualitative research, which is increasingly standing out in the field of educational and scientific research.The researcher provides interpretative understanding by face-to-face communications under natural circumstances.It advocates the researcher's participating into research circumstances, describing details and realities, and then reorganizing the sections into stories and revealing the"essence"gradually by the empathic understanding of the researchers.I chose a junior middle school as my research base.I mainly presented myself as an"observer-as-participant"in eight classes of Grade 8.Five of the cooperators are all Mathematics teachers.I collected my research data and material by attending classes and interviews from February,2005 to May,2006; My research thesis was as follows: Mathematical situation establishment,Mathematical skill training,Choice of teaching methods,Information technology utilization,Appraisal of studying behavior,Introduction of history of mathematics.Teachers are now aware of the process of situational establishment and applying it into practice, they are establishing all sorts of situations concerned with their teaching activities , though some are not so successful. However, teachers still attach great importance to the mathematical skills, hills of exercise, more focuses are on the calculating results rather than on the active process of reflection.In the eyes of the teachers, they seldom use the new teaching methods and information technology, which seem rather awkward; as a result, they completely retreat to the former ways.
