Human's economic behaviors are always shaped by their cultural environments, since all of them are within it. The laboring divisions of gender reflect the relationship among human being, nature, and society. It is true that these divisions are formed partly by environments and human's physical attributes, but historical and cultural factors of a ethnic group are also important aspects. The laboring divisions of gender in family livelihood formally serve as a tool of labor assignment, and the economic profit is one of their pursues; nevertheless, only in a concrete cultural environment can it get its own meaning.In this thesis, I tried to analyse the causes of laboring divisions of gender in Jing ethnic groups'family livelihood and the cultural law of these devisions, based on my fieldwork at a village named"SanXin". Then, I discussed the relativity of gender equality and cultural adjustment in economic development.This thesis includes six sections. In the first section, I reviewed the study of laboring divisions of gender in academic circles before. In the second section, I introduced the background data of my fieldwork spot. In the third section, I described the changes of this village's economy and the laboring divisions of gender in their family livelihood. In the fourth section, I mainly analyse the causes that shape the gender in their family livelihood. In the fifth section, I discussed some relative questions about the laboring divisions of gender,and expressed my thought furtherly on these questions. In the last section, I summarized my points on this research.
