Bullying is defined as a subset of aggressive behavior characterized byrepetition and an imbalance of power. The definition captures these two features. The behavior involved is generally thought of as being repetitive. Also, the victimcannot defend himself or herself easily, for one or more reasons, he or she may besmaller or little stronger physically, or less psychologically resilient than theperson who does the bullying. Bullying behavior is often classified as physicalbullying, verbal bullying and relational bullying. School bullying is a kind ofwidespread aggressive behavior in primary and secondary schools, and thefrequency of bullying among children in lower grade is higher than that of uppergrade. There are some differences between boys and girls in terms of prevalenceof bullies/victims and bullying types. Child bullying not only does both bulliesand victims harm, but also threaten the safety and development of one society. Therefore, the research on child bullying and intervention of bullying shouldcauses high attention from all trades of society.Family is where the child first sees and experiences relationships, it isthrough family that the child will learn what to expect in relationships, how tobehave in relationships, and the interpersonal skills to be used in relationships. Byways of parental upbringing and education, child obtains knowledge and skillsgradually, and masters all kinds of behavior rules and social regulations. He/shegrows up as a recognized and accepted person by the society who meets thedemand of social character from an infant who basically depends on instinct tolive.Families play key roles in the process of building of child early behaviors. Many of researches indicate that lacking of family warmth, poor family nurturing, and lacking of behavior instruction and supervision may cause child bullying inchild' later life, furthermore, which may "produce" bullies and victims. Therefore, analyzing how family to influence child bullying is the precondition forimplementing family interventions.Of all the family factors which affect child development, such as familymaterial condition, family structure, parents career, the education background offamily members, and parenting style, among which the influence of parentingstyle on child growth is the largest and the most direct factors. According toparental demanding and responsiveness towards child, parenting style is classifiedas four types, namely, authoritative style, authoritarian style, permissive style, andneglectful style.Among the relative family theories, Attachment theory, Social learning theory, and Family System Theory reveal the impacts on the formation of child bullyingfrom the aspects of children' emotion attachment to their parents or caregivers, behavior model learning, the relationship of husband-wife, parent-child,sibling-child.The above theories show that family plays an instrumental role in childbullying behavior, and that parenting style, parents relationship, and siblingrelationship are three important factors. For this reason, combining an analysis ofpractice case, the author puts forth some strategies and measures with regard tofamily intervention of child bullying behavior from two aspects of changingparental style and improving family function.
