Principles on how to choose content for activity and inquiry are concluded in this essay from the research on advice for activity and inquiry in the Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Secondary School with the aspects of its purpose, meaning and direction as part of the Curriculum Standards, its noumenal content in the Standards, the type of activity and inquiry and so on, regarding with the characteristics and teaching actualities of Chemistry, according to educational theory in ancient China about the dialectic relations between knowing and doing and recent education idea of Constructivism. This essay also tries to do something in designing and implementing content for activity and inquiry. It aims to give out corresponding theoretical and practical instructions for studying, constructing and applying chemistry education and students training models.Five parts are included in this essay, and here are the content and achievement of each:At the beginning, we propose the questions and give brief answers to the origin of the paper and the direction and value of the research.Then, we come to the advice for activity and inquiry which is part of the new chemistry curriculum content. References are combed, analyzed, studied and refined mainly from basis of providing advice for activity and inquiry, definition of curriculum content, implication of advice for activity and inquiry, development of the implication of chemistry curriculum content and so on.After that, we analyze the content of advice for activity and inquiry in the standards. Most concentration is on advice for activity and inquiry in the chemistry curriculum standards for high school, from the content, places and way of activity and inquiry. We attempt to find from the research what should be cared about when this new curriculum content is being implemented and its corresponding value for education and teaching in order to provide the basis ofchoosing content for activity and curriculum, a changing, flexible curriculum.And after, we discuss designing and implementing activity ad inquiry content. With lots of cases to illustrate, we study design and implementation strategies from the three kinds of activity and inquiry: experiment, investigation, expression and communication of activity and inquiry. We attempt to advocate that we should carry out the idea, purpose of advice for activity and inquiry and its educational and teaching value basing on the actualities of education and teaching allover our country.At last, that there are four piece of conclusion have been put forward.
