AbstractThe goal of modern education is to foster such students that not only have knowledge of science and technology, but also have ability of activity, independence and creativity. Thus they will have strong competitive sense, equal sense and cooperative spirit, i.e. they will be the men with strong self-organization. Such a goal is as same as the requirement in chemical study in senior middle school, so the research of the self-organization in the students' study has great and practical significance in the present quality education. This dissertation is composed of six parts. The first part introduces the background of the research of the self-organized study, and points out that in present class the teaching goal is singular, the teaching models are rigid, and the views to teachers and students are bigoted, as are not beneficial to self-organized study. After these, it refers to the goals and techniques of the research. In the second part, we mainly demonstrate the theoretical basis of the research─ the disspative structure, put forward the principle of openness, nonlinearness and fluctuation, and concisely introduce the theory of the mental science and constructivism. The third part explains the knowledge, ability, and personality and designates that their mutual influence formulates the self-organized ability. In order to develop this kind of ability, it is necessary to construct wholly open chemical teaching environment and pay particular attention to the nonlinear influence and aspect of fluctuation. From the inner organization of teaching system, the fourth part first gives a preliminary discussion of the feature of the self-organized study and the manifestation of the self-organized ability, then points out how to take tactics to impel the study and strengthen the ability. On the basis of the theoretical research, the fifth part advances a new teaching model for chemical study in the senior middle school, i.e. SQSC model. From September in 1999 to July in 2000, we have done a teaching practice for the students of Grade 2 in Qingyang Middle School of Jiangyin City by using this model, and have made assessments according to the questionnaire, the discussion and the result. All the practice has proved that the teaching model is feasible and effectible. In terms of impelling the formation of self-organized study and strengthening the development of the self-organized ability, the last part poses some essential points that require attention.
