The paper selecte Hui ethnic group in Gulou communities of Ankang City as an example to explore their livelihoods.This thesis, based on the field work in the Hui community, use oral and the official and local historical materials, discusses the formation,change and development of livelihood about Hui ethnic group in Ankang city,investigate the effect of Ankang Musilim livelihoods of internal and external factors,and explain the cultural motives by analyzing livelihoods,and in the face of changes in various factors, how Ankang Hui ethnic group to Inherit and develop their national culture.The conten of the dissertation is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction.Review the previous reserch about livelihoods of Hui ethnic group,and introduce the research idea of the dissertation from background, content and methods, difficulties and innovation.The second part firstly described the living conditions of Ankang Hui ethnic group from the geographical and historical background,and then by tracing the historical sources of Ankang Hui ethnic group and analyzing its ins and outs of basic livlihoods.the author maintains after Hui ethnic group moving into Ankang, different times and different factors led its livelihood through the complex changes.On the basis of fieldwork, The third part analyzes the cultural functional dynamics on the background of it livelihood which impacts on Hui ethnic group communities, by taking Slaughtering industry, the fur industry, catering industry, commerce, and transport are taken as example.The fourth chapter use of the theory to analyze the livelihoods of Ankang Hui ethnic group,and to discuss the diverse factors of livelihoods of Hui ethnic group and the links between the national cultural heritage and its livelihoods.The final part is the summary of the whole thesis which responded to fundamental questions on the paper.
