Feminism is the one of political thoughts which have greater influence on contemporary western society .It is not only the practical experience of the Feminist Movement, but also the theoretical guide of the Feminist Movement. Feminism points out: patriarchy is the root in system and culture which makes women oppressed and discriminated, and owing to its powerfully permeating effect in ideology, women have been regarded as "Second-rate Citizens" for a long time. If women want to have a thoroughgoing liberation, the patriarchal social system must be overthrown. This thesis introduces, comments, and analyses the political thought of Feminism on Liberalism, Socialism, Radicals, Ecology, and Theology. Focusing on the status of patriarchy in each Feminist faction, the whole thesis is spreaded:Liberal Feminism doesn't put forward the patriarchal theory;Socialist Feminism is the marriage of class analysis and patriarchal theory; Radical Feminism holds that the patriarchy is the only root which makes women oppressed;Ecological Feminism ascribes the roots of being oppressed of women and being plundered of nature to the patriarchy; And Feminist Theology considers that the patriarchy in religious field is the arch-criminal of making women oppressed. Employing the method of faction study and regarding "patriarchy" as the central concept and basic clue, this thesis tries to make a more overall and systematic introduction, arrangement, comment and analysis to Feminist thought in politics, with a wish to make up for the deficiency of study about this theory in Chinese academic field.
