Shaanxi Province, Declared World Heritage And Tourism Resource Development, Theoretical Analysis And Empirical Research

With the flourishing of tourism industry in China, the conflict between the supply and the need of tourism products is growing, the focus of which is that the quality and the rank of tourism products can no longer meet the need of Chinese market today, and we are particularly lack of famous brands, especially "international-famous brands". This conflict has become a key obstacle in our way to the further development of tourist industry. As a result, people have begun paying much closer attention to it and try their best to exploit the tourist attraction that are adaptive to the demand of the market.According to the actual possession of tourist attraction in many areas inside China, one may see that the problem does not lie in the lack of capability of creating famous-brand products, but in the lack of directions from scientific and effective theories in the field of exploiting and utilizing tourist attraction. There still exist many improper cognition and practice when the world heritages are developed into tourist products, which has now become the bottleneck of the development of tourism in many places. Shaanxi Province is a good example. It is well-known for its tourist attraction, yet it has not become strong in that field, and it is especially weak in applying for the world heritage, which obviously results from the lack of attention to tourist attraction exploitation.Based on the above facts, this dissertation, as it is suggested in the title-Theoretical Analysis and Demonstrative Study on Shaanxi's Application for World Heritage & Tourist Attraction Exploitation-systemically explains the concept of and some related knowledge on world heritage, and shows the necessity as well as probability of Shaanxi's application for world heritage after a careful demonstrative analysis of the current situation and the existing problems in the exploiting and utilizing of the tourist attraction in Shaanxi. This dissertation takes Mount. Hua as a typical example, gives it a comprehensive analysis, offers a theoretical summary, and studies the practical counter-measurements in Shaanxi's application for world heritage.As the dissertation is greatly concerned with China's reality and some problems are still under discussion, the viewpoints here are just personal considerations. The innovations of this dissertation include the following: (1) It systematically explains and analyzes the connotation,features and the value of the world heritage from a demonstrative angle. (2) It gives a systematical classification and rearrangement of the main tourist attractions in Shaanxi Province, based on which it lays special stress on analyzing the current situation of tourist attractions belonged to the heritage category and the existing problems in their exploitation. (3) It anatomizes the social and economic essence of tourist attraction. (4) It offers a layer-development mode with the direction of the circle-and-layer theory in geography. (5) It analyzes the identification of equilibrium point in the relationship between exploitation and protection of tourist attraction. (6) It respectively proves the identification of equilibrium point within short-term and long-term periods between economic benefit, social benefit and environmental benefit in tourist attraction exploitation. (7) It theoretically analyzes the relationship between world heritage and tourist attraction exploitation. (8) It offers some suggestions and counter-measurements on Shaanxi's applying for world heritage as well as the exploitation and management of these heritages.
