Mr Wang Jianzhong is a piano composer with outstanding contribution of china's comtemporary era. For many years, he has been exploring a way of piano music nationalization, which is to combine Chinese traditional, western classical and modern composing techniques. His composing works are of great number, rich subjects, distinct individuality, different styles, deeply professional and of great art values. His representative work is piano recomposition.This paper is mainly to analyse the piano composition, Five Folk Songs from Yunnan Province, which was composed by the collection of folk songs from Yunnan province by Mr Wang Jianzhong in 1958. This work owns brief construction, distinct theme, high piano techniques, folk aroma and great practical value in the field of piano performance and teaching. The author is to analyse the art features and composing style in the respects of composing background, structure features, multi-sound-part etc. By knowing about Mr Wang Jianzhong and his piano compositions, the author analyses the piano-play techniques and difficulties in teaching. This is to have a complete and deep understanding of Five Folk Songs form Yunnan Province, and to help us interprete the work better.
