A lot of research in the characteristics of one or two critics of the Group of Creation has been done. But the researchers have largely neglected the important influence of literary periodical on the group, which changed with its periodicals. This thesis just takes "Creation Quarterly", the main carrier of the early group, as an example, in order to get some new understanding and discovery from the original record. The thesis is divided into three parts:The first part: "Creation Quarterly" -present the value and sense of criticism 1 ) The coexist and cowin of criticism and creation. The criticism system of combining with periodical is the effective carrier which leads the criticism of the Group of Creation deeply, the coexist of criticism and creation also makes the cowin, and the Group of Creation form the power of their own.2) Literal criticism of pursuing value and sense. '"Criticism advances and retreats with progress", it is the powerful basis for them to negate all sorts of morbid phenomena on criticism, and makes it possible for the new literary circles have more different voices: "Criticism is a kind of art enlightenment", it reduces the distance and points out the way of "the May 4th Enlightenment", and it also refutes some lopsided views on the Group of Creation; "The creator in criticism", as the sign of the literal spirit of the Group of Creation, it is not only takes challenge to "purely objective criticism", but also carries on the spirit of " May 4th" .The second part: "Creation Quarterly" -practice in the turning from tradition to modern(1) Rational methods and artistic forms. Perhaps they are contradictory, as one is modern, the other is traditional in nature, but the combining of them just reflects the complexity in the turning of the Group of Creation.(2) The interpreting of literary ideas by criticism. It will be more directly and powerfully than the interpreting by literary works for literary organizations. The interpreting of the literary nature in " Creation Quarterly " makes people misunderstand the spirit of Group of Creation: " Creation Quarterly" plays an important role in the transformation and development of Chinese modern poems; Thedifference and argument on literary translation between the Group of Creation and the Group of Literary Study has greatly promoted the literary translation in early modern China.The third part: Criticism personalities(1) The emotional power of criticism. On the one hand, it makes the Group of Creation grow more successfully, on the other hand, it also makes the Group of Creation take resistant attitude to the dissidents. The dual character of the emotional power of criticism in the group' periodicals is good for us to understand other literary organizations.(2) Idealism in criticism. It is very valuable in the beginning of modern literary criticism, because only with the enthusiasm and ideal can nothing be turned into reality. The Group of Creation is of most enthusiasm and ideal in criticism, but it badly requires the construction and perfectibility of criticism system at that time, we should think deeply about the future instead of putting the blame on them.
