"one's own animal year" is an old traditional Chinese element.It came into being due to human's keen desire for seeking for the potential auspicious and avoiding the ominous.Because of human's such desire, Chinese people have created kinds of auspicious arts to deal with the uncertain things that might be ominous during one's own animal year. There is no doubt that such old traditional Chinese element is an indispensable part of the world's non-material cultural heritage.The auspicious accessories intend for one's own animal year do play an important role among the auspicious art for one's own animal year. Such accessories are very fruitful, and it is easy for us to find art treasure from them. First of all, this master thesis did research on the auspicious art, including its style, true nature, ways of conveying, positive aspects.Besides,this master thesis sorted the uncountable auspicious accessories for one's own animal year.Additionally, this master thesis did research on the shapes, formative arts of the auspicious accessories intend for one's own animal year, using the theories of sculpture art, aesthetics, semiotics, decorative art and so on. This is the corel part of all the thesis:For the accessories of both the very buddhas for one's own animal year and animal signs of the Chinese zodiac, buddhas and animal signs are the chief images while the subsidiaries are just vectors for them.The research into such field can be concluded as follows:Of all the accessories, spatial relation between space and negative space, spatial relation between the internal shapes, internal shapes'image conveying.Spatial relation between space and negative space just refer to the expression of the decorative images, which means the decorative images must adapt to the environment. Most of the auspicious accessories use round and full curves to determine the limits of the spatial relation, while at the same time few of them use sharp geometric lines to strengthen the tension effect. This leads to the result that the former has strong conveying effects, but the latter's conveying effects is worse.Spatial relation between the internal shapes request that all the internal images should form a balance and rhythm using ways of contrast and coordination.For the auspicious accessories, we mainly use space, linesto convey the contrast and coordination.Internal shapes'image conveying means using art languages to form visual images including refining,exaggeration,distortion,and so on.This master thesis mainly do research on the chief auspicious accessories intend for one's own animal year, and the chief points of them, aimed to ensure the quality instead of quantity.Last, I designed series of auspicious accessories intend for one's own animal year using the theories of art design and my research conclusion. I made several series of auspicious accessories for I just want to attract more experts to design better auspicious accessories which will fuel the old auspicious art.
