ObjectiveThis study was to verify the feasibility of rapid detection of influenza by colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay(GICA).MethodsThis study detected the antigens of the flu A and B in the secretion of nasal pharynx from 626 patients, and evaluate the GICA against the Isolatedculture and RT-PCR.ResultsTo detecte the antigens of the A influenza,GICA was high in specificity and sensitivity; And to do the Consistency Test of GICA with Isolatedculture and RT-PCR separately, the Kappa is 0.464 and 0.778,;And to do the x2 Test separately, P are both over 0.05, the difference have no sense of statistics. Used to detecte the antigens of the B influenza,GICA is both high in specificity and sensitivity; And to do the Consistency test of GICA with Isolatedculture in detecting B influenza, the Kappa is 0.390;And to do the x2 Test, P<0.05, the difference have sense of statistics. Positive outcomes of the antigens of the A influenza were mostly found in the December of 2008 and the January of 2009,and they were also mostly found in the patients of upper respiratory tract infection. Positive outcomes of the antigens of the B influenza were mostly found in the March,April of 2009,and they were also mostly found in the patients of pneumonia.ConclusionGICA is a good rapid detection method in Clinical screening influenza A. ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Zinc Gluconate Nasal Spray in the preservation of upper respiratory infection.MethodsA random, double blind and placebo controlled study was conducted to treat 901 healthy recruits in Beijing, which were consisted of a trial group (including 447 healthy recruits who were treated by Zinc Gluconate Nasal Spray) and a control group (including 454 healthy recruits who were treated by placebo). The dosage of these nasal spray was 2 consperg each time(1 consperg of each nares), twice a day, and the course of treatment was 30 days. All of the symptoms of flu and doubtful adverse effect had been recorded during the treatment. At last, To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Zinc Gluconate Nasal Spray in the preservation of upper respiratory infection by comparing the disease incidence rate of upper respiratory infection, flu and all the saymptoms.ResultsThere were 773 recruits completed the schedule tables up to standard finally, which were consisted of 386 recruits of the Zinc Gluconate Nasal Spray group and 387 recruits of the placebo group. The disease incidence rate (the times of one person to fall ill in 30 days) of upper respiratory infection in the trial group was 26.943%,while in the control group was 34.367%. There was statistically significant difference between the two group(χ2=5.010, P< 0.05). The disease incidence rate of flu in the trial group was 0.26%,while in the control group was 2.06%.There was statistically significant difference between the two groups(χ2=4.047, P< 0.05)The incidence of all the symptoms of the trial group were lower then the control group, especially the incidence of the four symptoms between the two groups have statistically significant difference(χ2 was 5.413,4.840,6.273,5.375, P is both under 0.05), such as cough, pharyngodynia, nasal obstruction and nose running. There was no servere adverse reaction occurrence after using the medicine in the both groups.ConclusionZinc Gluconate Nasal Spray is effective and safe to prevent upper respiratory infection.
