SPS capsules make up of full of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. This prescription has monarch drug named Q and minister drug of Hypericum japonicum Thunb.ex Murray. The properties are sweet flavor, little bitter and cool-natured. The meridians reach Liver, Gallbladder and large intestinal. The healing powers depend on eliminating dampness by cooling, eliminating stasis to stop pain and subdhing swelling and detoxicating. To ivestigate the effect of toxicology and pharmacodynamics of SPS capsules to animal, we choosed the methods of acute toxicity tests and long-term toxicity tests and revealed the toxicology of drugs with animal model. The effective from SPS capsules against hepatitis B virus of ducks was examined in 2.2.15 cell line. The protective effect of chemistry hepatic injury from SPS capsules against carbon tetrachloride(CCl4) and paracetamol(AAP)-induced liver injury was examined in mouses. The immunoloregulation role that SPS capsules influence the functions of mononuclear macrophage and the level of hypersensitivity was examined in mouses.Pharmacodynamics research used with cell line and animal model based on the Guiding Principles Of Drug Research Technology.Results(1) Toxicology studings showed SPS capsules couldn't injury multiple organs by the test of acute toxicity and long-term toxicity with animal model. (2) Pharmacodynamics studings showed SPS capsules had no effective treatment against hepatitis B virus in vitro but successfully in vivo. Our results showed that SPS capsules could improve immunity, protect hepatic function and inhibit enzyme in mouses compared with control.
