Xuan Baicheng Gas Decoction For Treatment Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Clinical Research

Purpose: To observe the clinical effect on Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with Xuanbai Chengqi Tang in treating acute period.Method: 60 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients were randomly divided into two groups, the treated group and control group all have 30 cases. The contrasted group were given western medicine's routine method, While the treated group were given Xuanbai Chengqi Tang cooperated with western medicine's routine method. Treatment for two weeks, every week have a follow-up meeting to observe the symptoms and the signs. Observing the arterial blood gas analysis , the pulmonary function, and other related indicators in the frond and in the end of the observation.Results: The treatment group clinical control have 6 cases, the significant effect have 16 cases, the effection have 6 cases, the invalid have 2 case, the total effective rate of 93.3%. The control group clinical control have 3 cases, the significant effect have 12 cases, the effection have 9 cases, the invalid have 6 case, the total effective rate of 80. 0%. In treatment group, the curative effect is better than that of contrasted group there are significant differences between them (P<0. 05). The compared of FVC,FEV₁%,FEV₁/FVC%,PaO₂ and major symptom score in pre-treatment between the treatment group and control group by the statistics have no significant differences(P>0.05). The two groups before and after treatment FVC, FEV₁%, FEV,/FVC%, PaO₂ and major changes in symptom score, with statistically have significant differences (P<0. 05). Treatment group and control group after treatment of FVC, FEV₁%, FEV₁/FVC%, PaO₂ and major symptom score by statistical comparison have a significant difference(P<0. 05). To the sum up, treatment group patients in improving symptoms and lung function, increasing arterial partial pressure of oxygen are better than the control group.Conclusion: Xuanbai Chengqi Tang can effectively improve patients' symptoms that the patients have in the acute period of COPD.
