As male circumcision is a novel,high efficient,simple and low-price technique in HIV prevention Yunnan Province is a high incidence of AIDS in China.Further investigations should be carried out on the epidemiology and socio-cultural context of male circumcision in Yunnan.Objective:Conduct a previous investigation on the male circumcision and prevention of AIDS by collecting information through questionnaire on the group of people suffer from redundant prepuce and phimosis,and understanding the current status and infecting factors of circumcision.Methods:The survey had been made from March to December in 2008.Conducting a face-to-face questionnaire and physical/medical examination on local people or people from other places of Yunan Province in Kunming city.Result:2514 people are investigated in this survey.Redundant prepuce account for 59.4 percent of the total number;Phimosis account for 1.3 percent of the total number; Accepted circumcision account for 11.5 percent of the total number;The people suffer from redundant prepuce who infect condyloma acuminatum and genital herpes account for 39.7 percent in the STD patients;The people of normal foreskin who infect condyloma acuminatum and genital herpes account for 18.2 percent in the STD patients.Conclusion:The ratio of people who accepted circumcision in Yunnan Province is far behind that of in developed countries in Europe and North America,people of redundant prepuce are much easier to get viral sexually transmitted diseases than normal people being effected by different ethnics,religious and age. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Yunan province, redundant prepuce, phimosis, male circumcision | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
