AIDS,whose full name is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome,is a kind of infective disease infected by Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV).AIDS can lead to immune lose, reduce CD₊4 T cells,and then cause opportunity infection and tumor.AIDS was first found in homosexuality in America in 1981.In 1985,the first case was diagnosed in China.AIDS is a serious chronic infectious disease,who was bad to human's health.At present,the therapy of HAART can reduce death rate and incidence of a disease,but it can't completely cure AIDS.At the same time,Its big side effects is obvious,and drug resistance is easy to happen.In recent 10 years, many researches prove that Chinese Medicine has large potentiality in regulating immune function,anti-virus,preventing and treating the disease.It is practicable to look for effective and cheap anti-virus drugs.In 2004,"Chinese Medicine treat AIDS experimental item"was developed by Sta te Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in five provinces.It expanded to elev en provinces in 2005,then to fifteen provinces,Through the reviewal analysis and sum marize of 340 cases in Guang An Men hospital,we are trying to inquire into the relat ion between CD₄,VL and TCM syndrome.The thesis includes two parts:Document Summation and Clinical research.Document Summation:From TCM basic theory aspect,present condition and progress research for AIDS i n TCM are stated in its name,disease cause,pathomechanism and syndrome.From t herapy aspect,clinical researches of TCM are summarized in compound Chinese medici ne,singal Chinese medicine,determine treatment by patterns identified,TCM and mode rn medicine combined,life style,acupuncture,qigong.clinical research:1 Objective Through summarizing and analyzing 340 cases of AIDS,we are trying to inquire i nto the relation between CD₄,VL and TCM syndrome to provide theory basis of TCM treating different periods of AIDS.2 MethodAccording to〈The clinical technology project of Chinese Medicine treat AIDS ex perimental item in 11 provinces〉,AIDS was classified into 3 periods and 12 TCM syn dromes.Sort out 340 cases of AIDS from Guang An Men hospital.CD₄+T lymphocy te count was divided into four levels by 200/ul,350/ul and 500/ul.Virus load was divi ded into four levels by 500copies/ml,10⁴copies/ml and 10⁵copies/ml.Then we are trying to inquire into the relation between CD₄,VL and TCM syndrome.3 Results.3 periods and 12 TCM syndromes were diagnosed.The leading syndrome was"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficiency"(22.06%).With the decrease of CD₄+T lymphocyte count,the patients appear different syndrome:CD₄+T lymphocyte count between 0-200 cell/ul were more likely found to be syndrome of"Qi deficiency and Blood stasis"(35.4%)and"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficienc y"(31.65%).While those between 200-350 cell/ul were more likely found to be syndro me of"Qi and Blood Deficiency"(22.8%)and"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Ki dney Deficiency"(20.73%),and others have a large proportion(25.91%).Those between 350-500 cell/ul were more likely to be syndrome of"Qi and blood deficiency"(25.64 %),"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficiency"(20.51%)and"Stagnation of live-qi&Flaming-up of live-fire"(12.82%).However those up to 500cell/ul had no d ifference.Patients with"Qi and blood deficiency","Stagnation of live-qi&Flaming-up of live-fire","Phlegm-heat internal","accumulation of phlegm-heat in lung","dampness and heat of live channel"and"Qi depression and phlegm obstruction & Blood stasis interna 1"have more CD₄+T lymphocyte count,however those with"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficiency","Qi deficiency and Blood stasis"and"Deficiency of both Spleen and Kidney&Retention of Dampness","Original Qi vacuity & desiccayion 0 f kidney yin"have less CD₄+T lymphocyte countWith the decrease of virus load,the patients appear different syndrome:VL between 0-500copies/ml were more likely found to be syndrome of Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficiency"(17.3%),"Qi deficiency and Blood stasis"(15.4%),"Qi and blood deficiency"(10.6%).Virus load between 500copies/ml-10⁴copies/ml were more 1 ikely found to be"Qi and Yin Deficiency & Lung and Kidney Deficiency"(24.36%),"Qi deficiency and Blood stasis"(19.23%).Virus load between 10⁴copies/ml-10⁵copies/ml were more likely found to be"Qi and blood deficiency"(23.68%).However those up to 10⁵copies/ml were found no difference.Virus load of most of the patients was low, and only some were up to10⁵ copies/ml.4 ConclusionThe leading syndrome of HIV/AIDS was"deficiency syndrome".The TCM syndro mes were distributed differently according to"CD₄+T lymphocyte count",and"virus lo ad"is closely related to TCM syndromes.We should pay attention to enhance vital ene rgy in treatment.
