Objective To investigate the effet and the mechanism of kidney-reinforcing Chinese herb Zishenwan on osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats.Method Female SD rat (n=66,7monthes old) were randomly assigned to 6 groups of 11 eaeh. The blank group weer shamming operated,the other groups weer performed surgery of removal both ovary. Medicines were given 2 weeks after surgery, which last 12 weeks and then killed. The blood were collected,Gn-RH,FSH and LH weer determined, the womb were taken out,and be weighted. After executing take the outlying I/3 quarters of thighbone and close I/3 quarters of shinbone, investigate the tectology of bone.Result The level of Gn-RH,FSH and LH increased and the weight of womb decreased vidently in model group, lumber number of bone significantly reduce,the bone organization degraded, the number of trabecula reduced, the thickness become thin, the area percent declined. In Zishenwan group including big,middle,small dosage group and nylestriol group,the weight of womb increased, the level of Gn-RH,FSH and LH decreased, the number of trabecula increased, the thickness thickened, the area percent raised,which has the statistics meaning(p<0.05).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine Zishenwan has reduced the Gn-RH,FSH and LH, improved the bone organization form of the ovariectomized osteoporosis rats, makes the rats'bone number increase of trabecula, area percentage rising. Its curative effect ispossibly go up with serum estradiol and stay the decline of HPOA,so reduce the active of broken bone cell, increase the active of bone cell. It show that traditional Chinese medicine Zishenwan have certain treatment role to osteoporosis.
