| Objective:To observe the effect of Panax notoginseng saponins(PNS) on intracranial hemodynamics in the patients with acute basal ganglia hemorrhage.Method:35 cases with acute basal ganglia hemorrhage were all treated with PNS .The effect of PNS was estimated with clinical neurologic deficit scores.Transcanial Doppler (TCD) sonography was used to detect mean flow velocity (Vm)and pulsatility index(PI) of middle cerebral artery(MCA).Results:PNS can significantly improve the neurologic deficit. The effective rate of the treatment was 85.71%.Compared with non-hemorrhage side, the Vm of MCA in hemorrhage side was lower(P <0.05) and PI was higher(P <0.01) in those with middle hemorrhage(the hemorrhage volumes between 15ml and 25ml). The Vm of MCA in hemorrhage side was lower(P <0.01) and PI was higher(P <0.01) in those with large hemorrhage(>25ml). The Vm of MCA in hemorrhage side increased with middle hemorrhage after 30 days(P <0.01). The PI of MCA in hemorrhage side decreased with middle hemorrhage after 30 days(P<0.05). The PI of MCA in hemorrhage side decreased with large hemorrhage after 14 days and 30 days(P<0.05),and the Vm of MCA in hemorrhage side increased after 14 days and 30 days(P<0.01)。Conclusion:This study found asymmetry of intracranial hemodynamics assessed by TCD occured when basal ganglia hemorrhage volumes exceeded 15 ml. Compared with non-hemorrhage side, the Vm of MCA in hemorrhage side was lower and PI was higher.Alterations of PI reflected this more sensibly and reliably than Vm.PNS can improve hemodynamics in hemorrhage side in patients with acute basal ganglia hemorrhage and was effective and safety. |
