Pulse wave is a common physiological phenomenon, which can depict the heart and blood vessel state of human. Technology of pulse detecting and analysis have been widely concerned. Convenient and effective pulse wave signal processing and analysis are very important in human health monitoring and disease diagnosis. In order to meet the application and requirements for health monitoring daily with a portable and domestic pulse detection instrument, the thesis studies the design of portable pulse wave system based on micro-controller detects the radial artery pulse pressure, and focuses on the processing methods of pulse signals in time-domain which are applicable to micro-controller.Firstly, theories related to pulse wave were introduced in the thesis, which include the interpretation of origin and information in pulse wave and introduction of the state of the art of pulse signal processing and summary of pulse signal's processing methods.The pulse wave detecting system according to practicability needs based on microcontroller was designed, using PVDF (piezoelectric thin film) sensor to pick up pulse wave signals, and system scheme for signal collecting and processing that can make full use of the C8051F3XX microprocessor. One kind of the method of pulse signal preprocessing in time-domain is presented, which combines hardware and software effectively.The pulse wave signals processing method in time domain presented in the thesis can adapt to limited hardware resource. Using template function modeling method and taking Fourier series as template, the template function of pulse wave is established off-line. By matching template function with real-time signals the parameters are recognized and the real-time pulse signals could be expressed by the parameters. Based on the method pulse signal can be analyzed and the information can be easily extracted.The pulse wave signals processing method in time domain can also be used in the pseudo-periodic signal processing in time-domain.
