Objective: Severe Acute Pancreatitis (SAP) is a common clinical acute disease of the digestive system, because of its development quickly onset, complex manifestations, rapid progression, and easily cause multiple organ dysfunction. For a long time SAP has been a surgery obstacle in the diagnosis and treatment in general surgery. The article would discuss the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis.Methods: Retrospective analysis of our hospital from June 2005 to June 2007 in the treatment of severe pancreatitis in 14 cases, summarize the experiment of the diagnoses, treatment, and the patient prognosis in SAP.Results: In the 9 patients, who were received surgical operations, 8 were cured and one patient was dead, the cure rate was 88.9%. In the 5 patients, who were received integrated treatment without operations, seven patients were cured and one patient was dead, the cure rate was 80%. Common complication cause dead is MODS.Conclusion: By carefully observing patients condition and the sign, using an integrated and individualized treatment, and pay attention to the prevention of complications of severe pancreatitis can improve curative effect, strictly select surgical indications, the timing of operation and method of operation is the key to improve curative effect. How to reduce the complications and improve the cure rate, and decrease the mortality is still the direction of future research.
