Community Elderly Patients With Coronary Artery Disease Quality Of Life And Influencing Factors

Background Coronary heart disease(CHD) is common disease that harms pelple's health. CHD affects patients's health-related quality of life. The disease not only threatens pelple's lives but also influences aspects of life of the patients and their family members. For the raha-bilitation of CHD,we should not only pay attention to improve their physical function but also focus on evaluating and intervention of their psychological and social function. In this research,investigator wanted to deeply study the HRQOL of senile patients with coronary heart disease in community and then gave some suggests for medicine and nursing.Objective This study is to conduct and overall assessment of the quality of life of CHD patients from the point of view of holistic nursing by using maltiple generic intruments. In order to have a more accurate and more complete understanding of the quality of life of CHD patients and the phasical,psychdogica,social and environmented factors that have an impact on their quality of life,this study is to make a comparison of qualty of life between CHD patients and healthy people so that the results of this study can provide positive evidence for scientific and effective nursing measures for elderly CHD patients.Method (1) A questionnaire composed of the Most 36-item short form health survey(SF-36), Seattle angina questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale and demographic information was used to investigate senile patients with CHD and general old people in community of taiYuan city.one hundred and eighty patients and one hundred and eighty general healthy eldly people completed it.(2)The investigation was carried out by asking subjects to fill in questionnares and complete scales to acquire needed data concering the CHD group and the healthy group.The differences in quality of life were assessed by comparing the scores of QOL-SF36 between the two groups of men. Anaina and social support on the quality of life of the two groups of men were analyzed with results of SF-36 and SAQ. Social impacts on the quality of life of the two groups of men were analyzed with results of General social and Demogrphic Data Questionnaire.(3)All the data obtained in the field investigation were statistically analyzed by computer with the software package SPSS 12.0 for windows.Results Compare with general old people in community,senile patients with CHD had lower score on 8 subscales of SF-36(p<0.05),especially in subscales role physical and mental health. Scores on RP declined the most obviously.Mean scores in the 8 SF-36 subscales,Role Emotional was the highest and Role physical was the lowest. QOL of eldly CHD in community have some bad changes in daily life,rode of social and emotion. There are some relative factors influencing on QOL of senile patients with CHD,which included changes of physiological function, psychological conditions and social support. Conclusion The QOL of senile patients with CHD in community is worse than general old people. The main reason depresses QOL is limit in daily life resulted from changes of physiological function. Demographic factors have some influence on QOL.
