| Objective: we investigated tobacco policies in public places of Jinhua and analyzed feasibility and applicability of those policies. In addition, we explored passive smoking and their knowledge, attitude and behavior. At last, we proposed tobacco control policies fitting for Jinhua City so as to reduce passive smoking.Methods: This research compared polices about smoking prohibition in public places using literature review method. We chose 14 public places from station, marketplace, hospital, school and government office with random sampling method and investigated no smoking policies. We then investigated 555 persons with random sampling method using questionnaire. We also investigated 375 students from primary school, high school and college with random sampling.Results: this research showed that"No Smoking in Public of Jinhua"had many problems such as lack of punishment provision, no multi-department cooperation. Nine places pasted sign of No Smoking and four places banned smoking of 14 observed places because of lack of supervision and finance and so on.The investigation showed that the rate of passive smoking was 86.13%, 85.77 percent of family smoke in rooms, 89.79 percent of recreation places permit smoking, 62.16 percent of workplaces permit smoking. The knowledge rate of passive smoking was low. Most of them agreed with No Smoking in hospital, school and public transportation tools. 18.13 percent of teenager attempted to smoke, 6.90 percent of primary students attempted smoke, and 34.13 percent of college students attempted smoke. The results also showed that 38.30 and 36.5 percent of students suffered passive smoking in home and out of home. In addition, 86.90 percent of student had seen teachers smoking in campus.Conclusion: government should play an important role in banning smoking and stage national laws to ban smoking. Local government should emphasize on No Smoking place, make sure the responsibility of tobacco control, and get support from media. |
