Therefore, my teacher DingDing who is Professor of medicine combined with the abundant clinicalexperiences and studies of the modern traditional Chinese medicinepharmacology, to investigate clinical effects of loop electrosurgicalexcision procedure(LEEP) combined with Yunnan Baiyao Capsules in thetreatment of this kind of chronic cervicitis.【Methods】We chose 120 women who had chronic cervicitis of more than five years,before this study they had taken medications and/or undergone physicaltherapies yet such as laser, cryotherapy, microwave, electrocoagulation,without satisfactory results, we divided 120 patients with puberty intothree groups: group one of Yunnan Baiyao, group two of YunnanBaiyao, control group each had 40 cases, three groups all received LEEP,after operation, group one of Yunnan Baiyao adopt four capsules of Yunnanbaiyao on cervix wound surface, the third day came back to using YunnanBaiyao again, four capsules each time, following day once, three days acourse of treatment; group two of Yunnan Baiyao used the same method ofthe group one, and took Yunnan Baiyao orally at the first day of theoperation, four capsules each time, two times daily, took six days;control group sprinkled Furacilinum two grams on cervix wound surface,waiting for it renovate naturally, if vagina bleeding was more thanmenstrual flux, came back to expectant treatment at any time. All of thesethree groups intravenous drop the same antibiotics five days(Ofloxacin0.2g and Metronidazole 0.5g), and compared with the three groupscircumstance of vagina excretion bleeding and the cured of the cervix atfirst week, second week, fourth week, sixth week, eighth week.【Results】All of the patient of the three groups were observed to have smooth cervical epithelium and normal shapes and sizes of their cervix eightweeks after they received LEEP, clinical symptoms disappeared,curing ratewas 100%. The days and amount of vagina bleeding in Yunnan Baiyao groupone and two less than the control group, and the time of cervix was curedshorter than control group(P＜0.01); the time and amount of vaginableeding and cervix was cured of the group two of Yunnan Baiyao wereshorter than control group(P＜0.05).【Conclusion】LEEP is presently the effective treatment of the refractory chroniccervicitis, but it has some deficiency, such as vaginal fluidincreasing, vagina bleeding, extending the time of the cervix was cured,according to the hemostatic effect, effects of promoting blood flow toeliminate blood stasis, anti-inflammatory action, healing wounds effectsof Yunnan Baiyao, we used Yunnan Baiyao Capsules after LEEP, making up thedeficiency of LEEP, effectively reduced the time of vagina bleeding andcervix was cured, and the effect is better by both of internal and externalused, they had dose-effect relationship.LEEP combined with Yunnan Baiyao Capsules have notable effects intreatment of refractory chronic cervicitis patients who they had takenmedications and/or undergone physical therapies yet without satisfactoryresults. It is sufficiently embodied combined methods of treatment oftraditional Chinese and Western medicine.
