The article which is based on classical Chinese medicine books, studies the laws of preventing and treating the disease about Gastric Carcinoma and the characters in each epoch. From the history of the name, the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, the formula and medicine of preventing and treating the disease studies the law of scientific developing. According to its clinical manifestations, the disease belongs to "weiwantong"(epigastric pain), "yige" (difficulty in swallowing), "fanwei"(regurgitation), "fuliang", "jiju"(abdominal mass) in traditional Chinese medicine. The etiology and pathogenesis of gastric Carcinoma, which based on ancient TCM's knowledge, included improper diet, exogenous pathogenic factors, emotional disturbance, congenital defect and so on. Methods such as warm the middle energizer and expel cold, regulate the flow of qi and relieve pain, replenish deficiency syndromes were widely used in preventing and treating the disease.Collected the literature of preventing and treating Gastric Carcinoma in the late 20 years. Then summarize the understandings of doctors of TCM about the etiology and pathogenesis and the formula and medicine of preventing and treating the disease.With the aim of showing some useful references for Carcinoma of stomach's prevention and treatment, 278 formulas were collected from the classical Chinese medicine books used for preventing and treating the disease. With computer technology, a database of the formulas and medicine were founded. The frequency of herbs was analyzed by statistic method. Besides this the most frequently used herbs were selected too. At the same time, 169 formulas were collected from the medicine traditional medicine used in modem times to prevent and treat the Gastric CarcinOma, which were founded the modem database. By statistic method, the most frequently used herbs were selected. Compared the two database, the same and the difference between the two were studied, and the reasons for these were explained too.The last part of the article poses three basic methods of the preventing and treating for Carcinoma of stomach. At the same time, I consider the method of warming the interior is a valid thinking and method.
