| Objective: To investigate the influence of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) of moxibustion at points Feishu and Gaohuangshu on BLM(?)5 induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats, to explore the effect mechanism and to provide experimental basis for prevention and treatment of acupuncture & moxibustion on pulmonary fibrosis. Methods: SD rats were randomly allocated into 4 groups: the blank group, the model group, the moxibustion therapy group, and the Prednisone therapy group. The control group was injected with normal saline via trachea, and the other 3 groups were injected with bleomycin via trachea to induce experimental pulmonary fibrosis models. and treated on the 7th day after making model and one time per day. The period of Ten-days was a course of treatment, a day interval between periods. Pulmonary pathological changes after therapy in each group were observed after 3 periods of treatment. And there were comparisons in pulmonary coefficient and variety of IFN-γ across groups on day 30.Results: The pulmonary coefficients of the moxibustion therapy group and the prednisone therapy group were obviously reduced (P<0.01). The histopathological examination markedly revealed reduced alveolitis and pulmonary fibrosis and IFN-γ contents of the lung tissue were significantly higher, and the expressions of IFN-γ mRNA werestronger. Conclusion: Moxibustion at points Feishu and Gaohuangshu can significangtly heighten contents of IFN-γ and the expressions of IFN-γ mRNA in the pulmonary tissue in the rat of bleomycin induced pulmonary fibrosis. |
