Objective:To study the expression of MMP-9, MMP-26 and ER in human endometrial adenocarcinoma , and to evaluate its relation with invasion and metastasis of endometrial adenocarcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemical staining S-P method was used to detect the expressions of MMP-9, MMP-26 and ER in 40 cases of normal endometrium tissues, and 50 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues. Results:(1). MMP-9, MMP-26 and ER had positive expression in normal endometrium and in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues.(2). The positive expressions of MMP-9 was higher in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues than that in normal endometrium (P=0.001) . The positive expressions of MMP-26 and ER in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues were lower than that in normal endometrium(P=0.036; 0.016). respectively, there were statistical significance between normal group and carcinoma (P<0.05).(3). In endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues, the expressions of MMP-9, MMP-26 and ER were positively associated with clinicopathological parameters: histological grade, surgical-pathological stage, myometrium invasion and lymphatic metastasis.(4).The expression of MMP-9 was significantly higher in patients with histological grade G3, surgical-pathological staging of III, invasion to deep myometrium, and metastasis to lymph nodes than that in Gl, staging of I, without myometrial invasion, without positive lymph node, respectively (P<0.05).(5). Expressions of MMP-26 and ER were significantly lower in patients with histological grade G3, surgical-pathological staging of III, invasion to deep myometrium, and metastasis to lymph nodes than that in Gl, staging of I, without myometrial invasion, without positive lymph node, respectively (P<0.01).(6). In endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues, positive correlation was found between MMP-26 and ER ( r = 0.844 ; P = 0.017 ), and only had some correlatable trend between MMP-9 and MMP-26 and ER ( r = - 0.427 -0.257 ; P > 0.05 ).Conclusions:(1). The positive expressions of MMP-9 was higher in endometrial adenocarcinoma tissues than that in normal endometrium. The positive expressions of MMP-26 and ER in...
