Acupuncture Combined With Clinical Efficacy Of Chinese Medicine Treatment Of Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy

Cervical myelopathy is a varied clinical syndromes resulting from spinal cord dysfunction. Underlying causes are numerous, but spondylosis at one or more levels is the most common etiology.The study includes three parts. The research advance of modern medicine about Cervical myelopathy, the research advance of Chinese medicine about Cervical myelopathy and the clinical therapeutics of acupuncture , tuina and Chinese medicinal herb on Cervical myelopathy.Clinical research:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicinal herb, acupuncture and tuina to deal with Cervical myelopathy probe its mechanism. Methods: 60 cases of Cervical myelopathy were treated and observed from January 2005 to March 2006. They were randomly divided into two groups: observation group of 30 cases and control group of 30 cases. The observation group of 30 cases was treated with acupuncture, tuina and Chinese medicinal herb ,and compared with the control group treated with Votalin by the assessment of syndrome, four weeks a course . Results: The results showed a total effective rate of 90% in observation group in comparison with that of 43% in control group on the syndrome, P<0.05. To compare the results between the two groups, there existed significant difference. Conclusion: Through the analysis of the results, the study proved the cause of Cervical myelopathy, its pathology. In conclusion, in dealing with Cervical myelopathy, acupuncture, tuina and Chinese medicinal herb is highly effective, safe and convenient.
