Liuweidihuang was our country ' s traditional prescription, it included Radix Rehmanniae Preparate Fructus Corni Cortex Moutan Rhizoma Alismatis, Rhizoma Dioscoreae and Poria It was usually made decoction in clinical practice and could be added or reduced for different uses, but this traditional form had several drawbacks such as it needed time to decoct and be not easy to carry, if we changed it from decoction to dispensing granules, we can resolve this problem To seek whether Liuweidihuang decoction was taken the place of dispensing granules , we analized and contrasted these two kinds of preparations through HPLC fingerprints, the result indicated that it was possible to substitute dispensing granules for the decoction from the chemical constituents aspect We studied the chemical constituents of Cortex Moutan as one part of the prescription Wegot 9 compounds, 7 of them were identified as paenol (I) 3-hydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone(II) - paeoniflorin (III) oleanolic acid (IV ) gallic acid (V) β -sitosterol (VI) daucosterol(VII), and II III V can be found in the dispensing granules and decoction, so it mightprovide certain foundations for classifying the peaks in fingerprints For the first time we established the HPLC method of determination of paeoniflorin in Liuweidihuang dispensing granules and decoction A Kromasil C18 Column was used, the mobile phase of paeoniflorin was acetonitrile-0.1%HAc (15: 85) and detection wavelength at 230nm The linear range was from 0.4μg to 4ug (r=0.9999) and the average recovery of paeoniflorin was 100.1%...
